Hello, here's hoping this journal isn't completely dead.

Bit of a random question for you all re. Blue Man Group's performance of Tubes (which I unfortunalty missed) I've stumbled across a description of the one of the acts whilst googling, which caught my attention-

'While the band played a cover of Jefferson Airplane's acid-rock anthem "White Rabbit," three electronic signs scrolled simultaneously, projecting different texts -- one for those who know the song, one for those who didn't, and one for those in neither category.'

Do any of you remember what any of the projected texts said? Or on the lines of...?
My curiosity is bugging me...

selling t-shirts?

Hey all,
It didn't say anything against sales in the community rules, so I'm hoping that this is okay.
If it's not, give me time to take the post down.

I'm selling two of the official BMG T-shirts that I got at the How to Be a Megastar Tour 2.0 in Reno. The show was last November, and the shirts have spent most of that time in my dresser. I'm strapped for cash at the moment and I thought someone in the comm might appreciate them more than I do!
My home is both smoke-free and pet-free.

I was supposed to be seeing the Blueman Group March the 16th. But because of some unfortunate events I'm not going to be able to make it! Boooooooo. But I do have their pay-per-view performance or freeview or whatever from 2005 I *think* recorded and I watch it all of the time.

Maybe I'll get another chance in the future to see them. I'm so jealous!

Im new to this "community", and fairly new to livejournal. I just want to put myself out here. I've been a fan for less than a year actually. My parents had gone to Vegas this past March and brought home to me the Complex DVD. I had heard about 'em in highschool (5 years ago) but had completely forgotten them (where was i!!??). Since March I've seen a venue show and I got to see the Megastar Tour here in Oklahoma (I also obtained a "meet and greet" pass). I have heard about all the improvements on the tour and Im sad i cant afford so see it again on the second leg. So anyone here who gets to attend, lemme know how it goes please!??

I was first and foremost a fan of the music because thats all i knew about them for a long time, but i've really fallin in love with the character of the blue man. I really get it, and i really needed it. Im sure that makes sense for much of you all. It combines all of my favorite things: messy art, comedy, theatre, live music... My friends and i are all quite different from eachother so ive got no one around me to enjoy these things with, so I'm hoping to make some friends around here. You know its nice to be able to talk about the things that you really care about when the people around you do too. That doesnt happen often for me.

After i graduate with my first degree at the end of this year, i want to get another in audio engineering. I really hope someday i can learn everything i can about all the bmg instruments, and maybe someday i'll get to work in a venue.

I got BLUE-ed!!!
I wouldn't ordinarily be posting at 10:30 p.m., BUT!!!!

OMG. We had SUCH AN AMAZING TIME at the Blue Man Group at the Venetian tonight--- That is a post in and of itself. However, the highlight of the evening was after the show, when I took the program that garyroux had bought for the three of us and waited in line for one of the Blue Men to "autograph" it. Basically, people were having the Blue Men leave thumbprints of blue on their hats, T-shirts, postcard, etc. We even saw a woman who bought a used drum head and had one of the Blue Men put a thumbprint on it!

I got up to my Blue Man after a longggggggggg wait, and -- basically, "speaking" in his "language" I showed him I wanted him to put his handprint on the back of my program. He wiped his hand on the top of his head and then placed one hand under the program (and against my hand) and pressed his blue handprint onto the program! When he let go, I noticed that he had also left a blue mark on my hand!!!

I was so excited by this, I wouldn't let the guys touch my hand all the way back to the condo! I even had photos taken of me, my "blue-ed" hand, and the handprint on the program! So sweet!

The show itself was breathtaking, and I can't even begin to explain how it makes you feel. My favorite song, Rods and Cones, was damned incredible, and there was a point during that performance where there was SO much going on onstage and all around it that I couldn't see it all. It was sensory overload, and it was almost as if you entered an altered state of consciousness. I even still feel that now, an almost "high" from their show.

I'm ... completely speechless when it comes to trying to explain how wonderful this show is. I'm a big Blue Man Group fan anyway, so this was like a pilgrimage to me.

When I get back to Atlanta, I'll be posting these famous photos!

St. Louis, October 21.
Anyone going to the St. Louis show?

I was curious, how much money should I bring extra? I'd like to buy something like a shirt or a poster... or something.

Reviving the community!

Has anyone else bought tour tickets yet? Discuss!

Also, having not been to a tour show before, how kid-friendly is the show? That is to say, my hyperactive 7-year old godbrother with is coming along, and I'm worried that he won't stay interested in the show and will resort to tormenting us in the middle of it. Has anyone else brought along young children to a tour before?

And randomly, has anyone figured out what the heck an 'Utne' is? ;)

BMG in Vegas
Hey everyone! I'm a huge fan of Blue Man Group - I saw them in NYC for New Years a few years ago, and last week when I was in Vegas. The show at the Venetian is AMAZING! And the theater is absolutely huge! Anyway, I've been wondering something, and I know I probably won't be able to find out, but I was sure this would be a good place to check. Does anyone know the names of any of the Blue Men? Or if they have, like, Blue nicknames or something? Specifically, I was wondering about one member of the Vegas cast - he was the shortest of the three, the one who caught all of the marshmellows in his mouth. If there's no names or nicknames or anything, thanks anyway. I was just wondering. :)

Also, do you know if I can send them an actual letter as fanmail? I would address it to Blue Man Group c/o and then the address of The Venetian, right? Has anyone ever done this? How did it work out? Thanks again! :D

Help BMG band members open for Bon Jovi!
The Utmost is a band in Las Vegas that includes two members of the Blue Man Group Band- and they're in the running to open for Bon Jovi. But they need your help!

Local radio station Mix 94.1 is holding a contest for the best local band in Vegas to open for Bon Jovi. Below is a copy of the email sent out to the Utmost mailing list. Check out their MySpace page to hear their music, and if you like it- please vote for them! It only takes a second to vote and the deadline is Sunday, March 5th at midnight. (Tomorrow!)
Thanks for your help!

If you haven't heard, my band The UTMoST is in the Mix 94.1 contest to open for Bon Jovi at the MGM Grand Garden next week!

To help a brother out, please go to:
and vote for "The UTMoST"

We are currently begging and pleading for everyone we know to vote for us. The time to vote is RIGHT NOW. The polls are only open this weekend, and they close on Sunday, March 5th at midnight, so hurry and vote now!!!

Please FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE you know, as every single vote counts in this competition. Again, THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for all your help and support!!!

If you'd like to check out my band a little more, you can find us on MySpace at www.myspace.com/theutmost and listen to a few tunes. The band has been incredibly busy lately, recording our upcoming album (due out next month), filming for VH1 (look for us in the "SuperGroup" series, starting in May), and generating press (Alternative Press magazine named us as one of the Top 10 unsigned bands to watch in 2006). But, of course, the biggest thing that could happen to us this year would be playing in front of 20,000 people with Bon Jovi, so please click on the link above and vote for us right now!

THANK YOU ten million times over!!!

Your friend,

New to the Group but armed w/ a question!
Hey everyone,

A few months ago (around Nov) I was in Circuit City and came across a new BMG music video ft. Dave Matthews. It was one of those promo vids they play on all their tvs. I loved the video, but that was the only time I ever heard the song. It's not "Sing Along" but DM introduced the video. It's been racking my brain for a while now and I can't seem to find it anywhere!

Please help!

x-posted in my journal...

nojobbob installed some bass shakers in the theater seats in the movie room upstairs... listened to Audio in dolby 5.1 in all its glory -- TV song was awesome. :) your butt vibrates like no other whenever the big drum gets pounded.

It'd been so long since I'd listened to that album I'd almost forgotten how absolutely wonderful it was. I need to go to vegas...

I saw BMG at the Luxor last July and I want to know if there've been any changes to the show since they've moved to the Venetian.

And on a more interesting side note, the new drama teacher at my school is a former NY Blue Man. :)
